Dude, I’m retired for 3 decades and still would need more time and had to prioritise hobbies. I work voluntarily with abused people, but not because I’m bored but because someone needs to. Besides that i love gaming, coding, traveling, cars, boats, going on daily tours with wifey, reading, music, watching star trek…

But I’ve seen people retire and getting bored to death a week later. I always found that sooo tragically sad, like they were born to be worker-ants and without work there’s nothing left worth living in their lifes.

But yes, the best job is one you actually want to do and are not forced to do.

I already did somewhere in my 20s like 3 decades ago.

But today, with maybe “just” one good academic salary, the minimum rent, no car and saving nost of everything? Difficult. Especially if you maybe wanna live while waiting for retirement. Maybe even have a car or travel.

And if you want a great retirement, you need Hobbies and hobbies cost money. Considering that mayve the government-paid retirement is probably gone or reeeeaaally bad in another 30yrs…you gotta save a looooot AND invest it furiously but safely. Which is work too.

Said that 30yrs before, decided for no kids due to that, and just hoped i was wrong. But here we are, worse than i ever imagined. We as a species, i mean.

Born in the 70s. I’ve been called gay for nearly everything i ever did in the next decades. Didn’t even understand back then why my assumed sexual orientation was something seemingly bad.

I’ve also called someone gay. He swore he was hetero but wanted to suck me off. Because dicks are so “aesthetically beautiful” while vajayays where just “disgustingly filthy axe-wounds” 😂 He quit the friendship because i thought he was gay and dared to voice it.

That was sad and the best example of what this stupid world does to people who are just slightly off the “normal” path.

I’m a techie and left reddit after the api-desaster. I won’t use things when they have ads. Period. And I’m glad I found lemmy.

I’m a windows-fan since… Errr… The first one. I’m a pro also with tons of win-certificates for everything. Even i started to effing hate w11. It started nice with the hdr and such, but the startmenu alone made me go nuts. Bought the one from stardock, didn’t satisfy me, made my own. If they don’t rudder back with their obnoxious ui in w12, I’m probably leaving and only dual booting for optimal gaming. I’m not troubled by the whole consumer annoyances coz I’m in a local domain with a lot of group-policies. Also global ad-/telemetry-block and firewall.

I’d personally love for the assnugget responsible for the ad to have to watch it on repeat for a whole day. Everyone should be forced to watch their own shit for some hours nonstop prior to airing. I bet we’d have way fewer bullcrap-ads.

I mostly hate that they take us for absolute dimwits devoid of any kind of reflection or without a faint flimmer of intelligence.

Just pisses me off. If i happen to see an ad unwillingly, I’ll try to boycott the product. I know i don’t matter, but it’s for me.
