Yah if it was simple as that in Linux. When the page says do chown 775 xyz , the Linux throes error as can’t modify, then I go down rabbit hole…honestly it’s far from simple

True on both counts.

It’s still techy, here two recent problems I faced with still no solution’( specially with only Gui)

1. Try to put Programs such as Firefox , emby in startup of linux
2. Find a folder comparison software, let it feels nd external drive ATTACHED TO LAPTOP and compare two folders on it.

and every time I say Linux is not usefull for simple use i get downvotes all the time . Cause Linux bro dudes can do it with terminal so easy… Well guess what linux dudes , its hard for performing many tasks which are simple enough on windows/Mac heck even on Android ( which is Linux also I know) , but desktop Linux has looooooooooooooong way to be normal os in households

The Lemmy Linux Community is elitist about Linux, I mean I told them I can’t find a file comparators on Linux I got downvotes , out of 4 , 1 solutions is use of Terminal(not a basic user would want to do) , 1 is claiming windows is bad and 1 might be a solutions.

No I can’t cause ripping entire dvd with one go is easy as click and done . I don’t have to “remux” or encode or whatever I just want a dvd to be copied in folder and that’s it.

My advice is get zorin or popos and see if there is installer in their software store. I am a new user like you are well and this sense to be common, i resroted to keep it on old laptop ,as server so in install and thin necessary things and then dinner user it at all. Linux Community on Lemmy is humbug, they will downvote as soon as you say Linux is not for regular person

its easy for you because you been playing around with Linux, I tried to install SSH on zorin os. But after installing SSH , it needs to be restarted, when tried to do that , it won’t saying the ash server did not start, A simple thing like this is have me stumped in Linux where as in windows it was just installing putty and done.

I totally agree with this point that, Lemmy needs to be accessible easily, I started using it and find it useful because of boost app. Otherwise it’s very hard to understand and still is what is Lemmy.world what is lemmy.ml etc. And how to make them combined.

Let’s not forget to comment this on I needed account , I tried to sign-up with lublnfrom boost didn’t work. I had to Google sign-up for Lemmy.world which takes me to special form , which has disable login with disposable email id’s. All in all TOOOOOOOOOOOO difficult process for common users. Doing this process I am still not sure if I comment on Lemmy.whatever subs.

Finding community and joining it, I still have no idea. It’s all too complicated.

Overall

1. What is a different Lemmy’s means
2. Simplifying sign-up process and make it streamlined
3. Make easier to use Lemmy

These would be my suggestion as Lemmy stands now.
