I respectfully disagree with you saying ai generated images are not art, it is “a form” of art, and saying so doesn’t equate to saying art is unimportant or that the human aspect doesn’t matter. Art is important, the human aspect does matter a great deal. Art is about ideas and means to express them, AI-gen does allow it in different ways than previously but right now you still have a sentient being with an idea to prompt the AI.

What you are saying looks a lot like what people used to say about photography not being art, and fear mongering about photography replacing other forms of art like painting. The opposite happened, photography shaped into its own form of art, and painting evolved to new era of amazing ideas.

  • Change your perception of the task, instead of it being a ‘thing that you will be happy to have done’ look at it as a ‘thing that are happy doing’,

for example instead of ‘I will be happy to have learned to play the piano so I should force myself to practice’ think ‘I am happy while practicing the piano’ instead of ‘I have to do the dishes’ think ‘I am cleaning these dishes with perfection, and optimising their placement so that they will dry the quickest’

Basically, don’t do things for the end goal, do it for the action itself, live in the present, not in the future. There’s always enjoyment to get from any chore if you approach it from this mindset.

My partner look at me funny when I put my shirts to dry in ascending color order, and my socks all parrallel, but the truth is, I’m having fun doing it that way, the chore has become a meticulous game that I take pleasure from.

Try being in their shoes: you set up an experiment to prove the earth is not flat and is indeed round, you run the experiment and at the end you realise your experiment fail and would prove the earth is flat. Would you changwe your point of view ? I know I wouldn’t, I would immediately assume I am an idiot and messed up the experiment, because I am so much convinced it is round, it would be much more realistic to assume I messed up.

  • I’m currently living through my most stessful week of my life: About a year and a half ago, I bought a plot of land with the project of building a home there, inflation and loan rate kicked in, so I thought “alright let’s wait a bit see when it stabilizes”, this week I learned my plot is planned to be removed from the “buildable” area. If I don’t put a building permit to the city council before this is voted my land will basically see it’s value divided by 20 and I won’t be able to build a house there, I put 6 years of savings into this project… all because my gov decided that they didn’t want this area to be urbanised anymore.

I have trouble sleeping and working I can’t think of anything else, I also lost my appetite.
