I’ve been in that situation. At first it’s kinda nice being able to sleep in without worry for a little bit. But after a while it really starts to drive you crazy just not having anything to do with your time. That restlessness quickly turns into depression.
A big complaint I saw about the live-action Cowboy Bebop adaptation for Netflix was that the acting was too cartoony/over-the-top.
Personally, I thought the acting was spot-on for what they were trying to accomplish. It was meant to be a live-action anime, so it was never intended to be 100% tethered to reality to begin with. The characters are meant to be characters, and I thought they did a great job with it. Spike, Faye, and Jet were all perfectly-cast, IMO, and they all felt like their original characters felt from the animated series. There are so many times where you can just close your eyes and listen to them talk to each other, and it feels exactly like it felt watching the anime on Adult Swim back in the early 2000s as a kid.
I honestly loved the live-action adaptation and thought it was amazing. I’m still immensely disappointed that the reception was so poor that Netflix decided to cancel it halfway through the story. There are so many characters I wanted to see that didn’t appear until later in the original series. I would’ve loved to see a live-action Toys In The Attic or Heavy Metal Queen.
Now that I’m thinking about it, I’m kinda surprised that there hasn’t already been a Skyrim mod that does exactly this.
I’d honestly love to see them try a different take on Diablo. It won’t happen since Blizzard is all about live service games these days, but I’d love to see a single-player, traditional RPG version of Diablo. Imagine if Larian got the rights to make a Diablo game.
I had a 2006 Ford Taurus that would’ve been stronger if it was built with Legos. Water pump fell off one day - like… just… fell off. The brackets weren’t broken or misshapen or anything like that, it just fell. None of the bolts were loose or unthreaded or anything. I know that doesn’t make sense. I KNOW. It makes even less sense that it happened twice.
There was also some kind of electrical issue that I could never isolate, but it was causing fuses to blow out every couple months, and would burn out the starter about once a year. I had to replace that starter so many times that I stopped needing to refer to my Chilton book for the steps. Sometimes the power steering would just stop working and then start working again with no warning.
From what I’ve seen, the SH2 remake looks really good. Honestly, it’s a fine starting point if you want to get into the series as SH1 is pretty inconsequential to the rest of the games, so you can definitely just skip it and not really miss out on much.
I really hope that Bloober gets the greenlight to continue remaking the rest of the series. I’d love to see a modernized SH3.
I haven’t actually played any of the Far Cry games, so I couldn’t speak to that. But if they play anything like Cyberpunk, I might have to give them a shot!
I love Celeste so much, the writing was way better than I anticipated a platformer game to have.
I also love some of the easter eggs they put in, like the white block in one of the earlier stages, where you will fall “behind” the block if you crouch on it for a few seconds; a nod to hidden mechanic in Super Mario Bros 3.
Cyberpunk 2077. I’ve been known to simp pretty hard for this game, but I do consider it to be one of the best games ever made. The story, the music, the acting, the gameplay, the visuals… Every single part of the game is just masterfully done. I feel it’s one of those games that everybody should play; a sort of “milestone” game like Ocarina of Time or Skyrim. Even if you’re not a fan of FPS or RPGs, it’s worth turning down the difficulty and playing just to experience the best story ever told through a video game, in my opinion.
I’ve only been to one once, but it was fun! It’s not the best experience for actually watching the movie, but there’s a slight party vibe that’s very energetic. I wish they’d make a comeback.
I’m with you on that. The combination of inflation and working from home for the last few years have made me borderline agoraphobic at this point. I think I’ve had in-person interactions with fewer than 15 people in the last year. It’s just too expensive to do anything these days.

Nah, not really. Technically, this is better. But only marginally so, and unless Valve does something catastrophically, egregiously abusive with the Steam platform, then the people who will actually benefit from this are few and far between. Valve wouldn’t just say “come sue us” if they weren’t wholly confident that they weren’t about to be losing any cases any time soon.
This isn’t some huge “win” for the people; gamers aren’t gonna rise up over this. For 99.999% of Steam’s userbase, this is an entirely lateral move. Valve are the only ones who will see any tangible benefit from this.
Because it’s not quite the good-faith gesture people are making it out to be; it’s a cost-saving measure for Valve. From the consumer standpoint, very little actually changes, as the average user isn’t taking Valve to court in the first place. It’s not as if Valve is suddenly lowering their legal funding in conjunction with this move; they’ll still defend themselves harder than most consumers would be able to, and will win their cases in court instead of in arbitration, which is even more costly for the consumer when they lose.
While arbitration favors companies, so do the courts. If anything, this just makes it more cost-prohibitive on the consumer side to make Valve face the law.

Open it up without shaking it up or jostling it too much. Is it still powdery all the way through? If so, it’s probably safe.
If you open it up and the mix has any clumps or inconsistent coloring, toss it in the trash because it’s likely been exposed to moisture, which invites a ton of potential problems.
