College Prof in the US, focus areas are Human-Computer Interaction, Cybersecurity, and Machine Learning
I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that you were just trolling. Next time, just save everyone some time and post to some shitposting community.
Keep trying! You can do it, it just takes time and it very likely won’t click in an evening.
Practice that change super slow going from a G chord to a D chord. Four strums on each chord, taking as much time as you need to make them sound as good as you can. It will sound bad for a little while, but eventually, you will do it perfectly, and you will do it perfectly again and again and again until doing it wrong is more difficult than doing it well.
Keep at it, you will do it!
Toxoplasma Gondii - a parasite bred through cat poop. It is extremely common, easily spread through undercooked food (especially meat). It can affect your mental state to engage in riskier and more self destructive behaviors. Testing for Toxoplasma Gondii is not standard, but it is believed that 10-15% of the US population is infected with the parasite at any given time.
“We choose to go to the moon and do the other things not because they are easy, but because they are hard. This is just one of those other things.” - My dad quoting JFK at me to get me to do the dishes as a teenager. I don’t think he would remember even saying that to me, but has always stuck with me. Something said about something so monumental being applied to something so benign. But that wasn’t the point, because it was hard for me.

I was really active in that sub at the time. Fox or CNN or something contacted the moderators about an interview. The mods discussed it and decided to decline. IIRC, they later made a post about not accepting interviews until they felt they were more ready to present clear goals, and maybe pull someone from the community to be a “official” spokesperson.
Then a mod went rogue and did the now infamous Fox interview. That was bad, but recoverable. It was further shenanigans by the moderators in the immediate aftermath that caused the schism into work_reform. Before my exodus from reddit, I followed that community closely, but never got as involved. At the time, I remember thinking that the mods felt more reasonable than in antiwork, but that quickly changed too. Eventually they effectively became mirror subs.
Then RIF got shut down and someone told me about this lemmy federation where I could post about all the gay space communism and fringe technology I wanted. I think that I am happier now overall.
Ok, you are entitled to your opinion, but the claim was that Christian churches and Christian church goers weren’t being targeted or “demonized,” which I’ve shown is false. Both with an example from yesterday morning, and an aggregate data set which shows some level of significance. Now, whether you want to argue if it is deserved, or proportional, or whatever else is up to you and your morals. However, the original claim that Christians are not the target of harassment because of their religious affiliation is simply not true.
I thought that the article being from this morning would say enough, but I mean… https://www.christianpost.com/news/436-acts-of-hostility-against-us-churches-documented-in-2023.html

On the flip side, the font caught my eye and made me want to read what it said.
Which then took 5 minutes because I couldn’t easily read what it said. But still, good marketing of a comment
What happened to you “By Default”? You can’t just drop 3 absolutely amazing videos in the span of a month, then enter complete radio silence for 4(+???) Months! My heart can’t take it…
BBS’s would like a word
The local police let a local business leader escape custody.
TW: sexual abuse and child abuse.
He was very well connected in the community, including higher ups at fortune 500 and other multi-million dollar businesses. He was arrested for multiple rapes, as well as multiple child abuse and sexual abuse cases. When he escaped custody, he was left alone in a police vehicle, in an area away from cameras, the police camera inside the car was deactivated, he wasn’t properly restrained according to department policy, and the handcuffs were found inside the police vehicle.
I don’t think that is a hot take at all. Many popular Linux tools in a way that feels like it was easy to implement, but not necessarily easy to use. This makes sense when you realize that many of the projects started as labors of love by developers, not UI/UX designers. Those folks work for money, and don’t spend their weekends designing imagery layouts for software that doesn’t exist just for fun. I think the only way this hole is going to be dug out is if universities start focusing more on cross-training and software engineering/development degrees instead of computer science degrees. If the next generation can make something useable, then people will use it. Once people use it, the money can flow, and professional designers can be hired.
Still waiting to see which guitar sub on which instance will come out on top. I miss seeing the NGD posts, answering questions for all the new folks, and learning about obscure equipment.
Ordering from Walmart has always been a good experience for me. Especially when I can do in store pickup to keep my meth head neighbors from plundering my porch. However, the one item I did try to order from AliExpress never arrived, so that left a bad taste in my mouth.
2002 ford explorer. You don’t see many 20 year old cars on the road at all, but that thing was already a rare sight by 2012 when I ignorantly bought mine.
After owning that pile of scrap for 2 or 3 years, when the 2nd transmission gave way and the front left suspension just sorta collapsed in on itself, I was left surprised that any of those cars survived beyond 2003.
