I made a post about my Gnome experiences already, which were just terrible due to how unstable the apps were and how it lacked a ton of even very basic features that I needed. So if their Wayland support is better, it’s completely overshadowed by how shitty everything else is.

Most of the issues were a year or two ago, but I every now and then switched to Wayland to see if things got better and returned to X within like hours due to issues just around the “desktop”.

I’m on AMD and had so many issues with Wayland. A lot of games were straight up unplayable due to the amount of issues and some other applications straight up not compatible while scaling is also still a freaking mess. Saying Wayland has been working perfectly for years just feels like clownery and is kinda insulting to everyone who experiences those problems.

Sometimes I see the rare post when I sort by Newest but it almost feels like kbin is giving 18+ submissions a low priority or something. Meanwhile when I check through my Beehaw account I see a lot of it, relatively speaking. Definitely far more than on kbin.

I used the commands OP provided, which is also what’s been posted on the official page and it seemed to have worked without issues for me. At least in regards to me not having any graphical issues.

I get the same error when trying to update. What’s the correct way to fix it?!

I prefer a distribution which is supported by game publishers.

?! Is that supposed to tell the quiz that I’m looking for something to play games on? Or why should I care what the odd publisher may “support”?

Depends on the spider. I would not want something like a huntsman spider, but I don’t mind the small ones that just sit in their corner webbing.

And the latest version is Unity based. Also, I’d say the only thing that prevents Enterbrain to do a similar move, is simply that they don’t even have nearly the same significance & reach as Unity. RPG Maker always was a niche product, even if it a popular one at that. But you don’t really see big commercial game releases that are based on it like you do with Unity.

We’ll have to see how this Unity thing plays out, but if this isn’t going to be the engine’s downfall, then it will become a new norm for others to follow.

Addons should not be dependent on your OS, unless there’s some third party program that comes with them that is exclusive to it (like KDE Connect).

Nobara fixes quite a few aspects of this.
I really don’t understand why backup tools like Timeshift or Snapper aren’t shipping preinstalled & preconfigured in all mainstream type distros when you go with btrfs, or at least have an option in the installer for that.

Definitely Arch and Ubuntu.

You realize Fractal Design isn’t Chinese, right? If you want to buy locally produced things, you certainly won’t be buying US stuff.

It just sounds very weird for non Americans to value “made in US” labels so much. America doesn’t actually have that kind of product reputation, except for maybe fighter jets.
