  • I switched to a French Press recently-ish. Instead of 4 or 5 cups of weaker coffee from my single serve drip thingie, I have 2 strong cups from my French Press and am ready to go. I’m thinking about trying a pourover to see how that is. Espresso is tasty and strong, but I don’t think I’d want it NEARLY enough to justify a machine. I usually only do espresso when I’m traveling, makes me feel fancy having a latte in the big city haha.

All that said, coffee is very individual. There is no “right” answer. If you’re happy with drip, than drip is the way. :)

  • With every bonkers reddit/twitter move we get new waves of milquetoast liberals.

I just wish someone would tap the sign of “no, claiming Harris is the answer to all our problems on ml instances won’t go well.” So tired of threads from .world types crying oppression when they’re banned for screeching hate at people but cheer when .world mods kick us for posting a source or some other mundane bullshit.

You’re not wrong, but the underlying traits that make them that way is also what drives them to build FOSS software instead of maximizing their income potential at any and all costs. Meanwhile, most users just suuuuuuuck.

It shouldn’t fall on developers, but maybe the community should normalize finding a willing representative willing to listen to all the hot garbage the community throws at devs and have that person monitor various channels then relay only the relevant stuff to the Dev. Cause as it stands, difficult or not, FOSS devs are working for free and dont deserve the hate they get.

  • Its been said in this thread better than I can - but I wish the people who argue sex work is immoral because you’re “selling your body” would apply that same logic to labor.

For most of us, our body is the only capital we have and we’re taught to devalue that capital into oblivion so those who deplete that capital the most make the smallest possible piece of the pie.
