I don’t disagree with you but I feel that it is important to recognize and call out the misogyny element in this story. The gaming community has a pervasive sexism problem that’s normalized, and that part is unique in that it all comes from men.
I have only ever played three games online. The first was Final Fantasy XI, and I was part of a group/guild with nice people. It was fun!
The next was Team Fortress 2 because my husband wanted me to play with him. The vitriol and misogyny hurled at me over voice chat after two matches made me never play again.
The last was Destiny, and I turned off voice chat completely.
Upvoted for the adorable photo of a red panda :)
To anyone who hasn’t played this yet, if you buy it on console or mobile, the huge 1.6 patch is set to release November 4th.
From what I have seen, if you can play it on PC, do it, as you can get all kinds of mods and stuff that aren’t available on console. I played it on Switch years ago and then would see youtube videos of people playing the PC version and it looked like a different game altogether.
+1 for Crosscode! I will admit the terrain puzzles can feel tedious after a while, but goodness, this game has great mechanics, story, and charm. One of my favorite games of all time.
I am so excited for the next game coming out by Radical Fish Games.
Nice try! I looked at the Steam reviews with people who had 600+ hours playing this game and said something like “it’s hard and cruel and punishing on a level we as a people have not experienced before” and I knew I would never have the time or patience to play this! 😄
If I scritch my cat just right on a certain spot on her back, she’ll immediately fall over onto her side to accept my offering of more back scritches. It works nearly every time.
My partner gets jealous because the cat refuses to fall over whenever he tries it.
That’s adorable. Mine will get really excited for food sometimes and get all poofy because of it. If she’s extra happy about it, she’ll even hiss.
As someone who currently uses searxng and kagi, I can say that kagi gives the best results of any general internet search engine. Do I like paying money for it? Of course not. But it will keep getting mentioned as long as it keeps providing the best results.
Customer word of mouth ≠ shills.
I use a Sony NW-A55 walkman. It is one of the latest models of digital audio players that doesn’t use Android. It has a microsd slot, supports flac, bluetooth, and no internet connectivity. The japanese models are still available new on ebay, you just have to change the language on the player to english.
I love it.
I have an Amazfit Bip 5 with Gadgetbridge and for the most part it works just fine. It even accurately recognizes my bicycle workouts, something my Apple Watch Series 5 could never manage to do. For $80, I am very satisfied.
On the flip side, the Sleep and Do Not Disturb modes let through calendar notifications and sounds no matter what, which is mildly infuriating.
I also deleted the Zepp app after the initial pairing, so maybe that’s part of why my experience is different?
Hey now, Pandora still pays 0.133 cents per play to the artists like they always have!
Surprisingly, it’s more than Deezer pays (0.11 cents).
So on a good month, 10 to 15 cents of my $5.00 subscription will go to the artists.
…I think I just talked myself out of paying for this subscription any longer.
Unfortunately North Carolina’s current abortion law is 12 weeks. That’s unacceptable.
Does anyone else see the creepy upside down smiley face in the corner?
I empathize with your outrage. I once worked at a place with 100+ employees and high turnover, and people would steal lunches there. When I first heard about it I was horrified. The reality is that the company doesn’t care, and unless you’re the person whose lunch is being stolen, most co-workers won’t care either – they wouldn’t even know how to help you.
A solution could be as simple as a camera pointed at the fridge, along with firing any thieves. IMO the fact that most places don’t take it seriously is evidence of how little they care about the employees.
