  • It definitely is better, but it sill has some stupid quirks that in some cases could probably be fixed by few lines of code, like not locking the screen when you are on the lyrics screen. It also is very slow to start-up in offline mode, which drives me nuts. But otherwise it is much better performant than Spotify and has better ways to listen to new music, instead of the dumb intelligent randomize feature on Spotify.

I can think only for one legitimate reason:

    • Google bought out YouTube and operated it at loss for most of its life, effectively making it a monopoly in the process, and only started to earn money on it when there was no way any other alternative would come up and endanger it.

If you ignore this, YouTube Premium is a pretty good offer. And I personally like the fact that I support content creators, without the need of watching ads that are nothing more than cancer for society.

That said, I would still prefer YouTube to return to its roots and separate from Google, since it’s pretty much possible for it to stand on its own right now, I guess.

    • Btrfs on my laptop with openSUSE, mainly because it’s default, but also for its snapshot capabilities.

    • Whatever file system my default Raspberry Pi installation uses (probably Ext4).

    • NTFS on my main computer With Windows 10, because… well… I don’t really have any other choice, although I know there’s some kind of 3rd party Btrfs driver for Windows as well and you can ever have boot partition formatted as Btrfs, but I think it’s still experimental.
