The only time I’ve had someone tell me we’re living through the end times was during the whole 2012 thing, but they said it as a joke.
On the other hand, I’ve always had a feeling, even before I was a teenager and started becoming aware of the world outside my little bubble, that humanity won’t be around by 2100. I very much hope I’m wrong.
Oh yeah, the game is short so I highly recommend 100% it. I think I took 6ish hours to play the entire thing, and I think I missed a side quest. But yeah, the game is basically “be gay, do crimes: the game”.
Helped my dad wrap a box in about an inch of duct tape (which was then gift wrapped) for a cousin’s Christmas present. The box was full of packing peanuts and had a false bottom with a gift card underneath. At no point had we stopped to consider whether or not it could be opened again (it took a long time to get it open lol).

The Long Drive (looks like YouTube bait, and it kinda is, but it’s also the best driving game I’ve ever seen. Literally you, a car and 5000km of road. Any engine can go into any vehicle, so yes, you can put a bus engine on a moped. I love it. There haven’t been any big updates lately though because the dev is rewriting the game to fix spaghetti code).
QT (cutesy PT parody that’s all about secret hunting. Also has two extra levels with more secrets. It’s kinda like i-spy but in first-person 3d)
Voices of the Void (I adore this game, it’s a sci-fi pseudo-horror game styled after some weird mix of gmod and Half-Life. The premise is that you’re a researcher who’s been shipped off to a radio telescope array, alone. Your goal is to search the sky for signals and learn more about the cosmos. It takes itself just seriously enough and has lots of secrets and surprises to find.)
I think it’s gonna get a lot worse, but if we can hold it together then it’ll be smooth sailing afterwards. Basically, I think we’re approaching several “Great Filters” and if we can get past them then we’ll be good.

And if you want the heaviest album I’ve ever heard, try Snailking by Ufomammut. It’s… It’s something else. Basically a mix of doom and stoner metal but with sludge metal effects. Best way I think I can describe it is if Pink Floyd had been a doom metal band addicted to Lovecraft. It’s trippy in a lovecraftian kinda way.

(For those not familiar with gallium, it’s basically mercury but safe; so it’s a liquid at room temperature but a solid just below that, depending on where you live, without the risk of Mad Hatter’s disease)

Google is still working on improving the Terminal app as well as AVF before shipping this feature. AVF already supports graphics and some input options, but it’s preparing to add support for backing up and restoring snapshots, nested virtualization, and devices with an x86_64 architecture.
This is the part I cared about. Can it run x86_64 programs, or is it just an ARM-compatible version of Debian?
If it can actually run x86_64 programs on ARM devices, then that’s kinda fucking sick and would likely help the world transition to ARM. Like, fuck Google, but this sounds like a good thing, maybe?

I couldn’t find the original UN article which is why I was referencing the FEE one. Also, while I quoted the bit about “empowered intellectuals” I assumed that was pro-capitalist cynicism towards education and community due to the heavily pro-capitalist slant in the rest of the FEE article. I kinda figured everyone else picked up on that too.

Y’all should actually read the article because it seems like it’s saying something completely different from what OP is trying to make it sound like. Basically, if I understood correctly, Kent was being critical of the idea that market-led solutions (i.e. capitalism fixes hunger) are better than community-driven solutions. He was also saying that hunger is part of capitalism, and you’ll never get rid of hunger while capitalism exists, because capitalism needs to withhold resources to force people to work.
This paragraph seems to sum up the article pretty well:
In Kent’s view, one gathers, global hunger is not a complex problem that is being addressed by free market capitalism; it’s a moral one that requires empowering intellectuals like Kent to solve it.
Do it at night when people are going to bed. Send out a message to get people to check their pagers, then detonate them. There’s still a chance of collateral, but it’d be significantly lower than detonating them when people will be out in public at the cost of what I imagine would be a slightly lower chance of hitting targets.
