There’s quite a few different YouTube channels dedicated to finding scrap metal or even a guy who owns a scrap metal business who pays for scrap metal, processes it, then sells it to various foundries to be melted down into something new.

I personally like to buy used items and resell them on eBay. Sometimes at thrift stores, but also garage sales and estate auctions. You can find auctions nearby on a site called hibid. I also sell my old unused items on eBay as well or even parts from broken items. Just look up the item on eBay and filter by sold.

Scrap metal. I always leave my scrap metal out on trash day next to the trash can. A guy in a pickup will come around and get it. I would have to save it up for years for it to be worth a single trip, but he’s getting a full load or two every day. I’m sure I’ve lost out on a few hundred bucks over the years.

I’m sure if you started an electronics recycling company or a clean out business you could get people to pay you to take their stuff.

I used to work at a new car dealership, I didn’t have a whole lot of experience. I get a new truck in that the customer wants running boards installed on. I get it up on the lift and start working on it. I get one side loosely on and bend down to do something then the back of the truck falls off the lift and the sides land on the lift arms. For some dumb reason my instinct was to try to catch the truck. Fortunately I wasn’t crushed. The problem was that the lift arms did not lock into position, the lift pads were round rubber pads which were pretty smooth and the truck frame had just been undercoated. The lift arms just decided to both slip inwards. They said it wasn’t even the first time something like that had happened with that specific lift.

The damage was pretty bad because that running board that was loosely installed bent up the rocker panel. Both bed sides were damaged.

If I win it I’m probably going to use it for future local events. They’re currently forming committees on top of committees on top of committees to talk about the various video game related things they want to do. One of those things is hosting game nights or tournaments monthly at each post.

They say the mission is to attract younger vets, but I think that older vets would also enjoy gaming, they just don’t realize it. Sure, they might not want to play an fps, but I’ll bet I can get them going on an old arcade machine or playing geoguesser. I’d also like to see if I can get ahold of a flight sim rig and get some retired pilots in there.

It should be mandatory to stagger it by lottery. That way there’s only ~20% of people off on the same day and you can enjoy your day more. I hate going out on weekends because of all of the extra people who are out. Being off on weekdays is great for the most part.

It says on the page that all spouses can join. The only people that can’t join are non-veteran sons because there is a separate thing for son’s of the American Legion. In reality it doesn’t matter if you’re all just hanging out together anyway. It only really matters if you want to be part of the internal politics, but honestly, it’s probably worse than being in the military.

It’s a much deeper rabbit hole that I can’t fully explain and I’m someone who went without menal health treatment for most of my life and I should have been treated in my childhood and wasn’t. Up until recently there was a stigma attached to mental illness. Probably because you until the 80s you could get thrown into an assilym and given a labotomy or worse. Lately mental healthcare has become something of a fad. And everybody is trying to see doctors. Mental health physicians are few and far between. Even with health insurance it can be difficult to find one. Some places have appointments booked solid for six months or more. It is expensive. It’s roughly $200 (before insurance) to see a psychiatrist for ten minutes just to get a prescription refilled. The deductible you pay with insurance varies, but can still be over $50 or more. You can go to a private practice doctor, but they likely don’t deal with insurance. Prescriptions are generally pretty cheap, even without insurance, it depends on which pharmacy you go to. Going to a regular doctor for mental healthcare is generally a bad idea because they don’t understand how to diagnose people properly. Giving someone with bipolar disorder an SSRI is like throwing gas on the fire.

Local jails are full of people with undiagnosed and untreated mental health disorders. It would be much cheaper to just give people free healthcare, but there’s a lot of mean spirited people in the u.s. also due to mental health issues, no doubt.

All of your local business people either are or have just not paid taxes on income. If it’s a cash business or they accept cash, there’s a high likelihood that they just put that in their pocket.
