Gotta consider users on windows download random programs and blindly follow an installation wizard.

All the drama started from this video
Gamers Nexus then made a video breaking down a bunch of issues with LMG
Linus responded 3 hours after GN posted their video.
The response was rushed and poorly made. Gamers Nexus the next day made a response.
Which made LinusTechTips push out a video addressing some of the concerns and what they are gonna do.
Then, an ex-employee came out, stating many of the issues they had with the company.
LinusTechTips on twitter (or x i guess?) stated they are looking into it.
Philip Defranco summarizes everything within 10 minutes and includes a couple of questions they asked LMG. I thought he did pretty well, so its alot better than spending several hours looking into everything.
Installing Windows is easy, but once something goes wrong, troubleshooting becomes more challenging. You have an error code? Yeah, well, try these 100+ things that are the same things you gotta try with every other error code out there. None of those things worked? Well, reinstall windows that should fix it.
Granted, I have plenty of experience with linux at this point to where I won’t stress when something fucks up but ive dealt with my fair share of windows issues as well. The majority of the time, I end up reinstalling windows…
Pure capitalism allows many to abuse the system and that results in what we have today here in the us. Overtime politicians have continued to do patchwork to simply get by for the next one to take over and scrap whatever agenda the previous one had in play. Which makes the problems worst and in turn takes longer to address.
We need both legislation and accountability for alot of things but it seems to be impossible to get both of those things. Hell, I dont care that your rich. Just dont bring everyone down with you when you take that one gamble and it causes everything to crash!
The judge.
Leaves everything behind to become this great lawyer but when the unfortunate happens he has to go back and come to terms with what he thought was once lost.
Not sure why I keep watching it but I do enjoy how it develops.
Depending on how you look at it then yes its not free. Though you could use something like Libretube to prevent both ads and any form of analytical data from being collected.
Though other alternatives like revanced manager prevent ads and give premium benefits. Not sure about the analytical instance of it though.
In our family, consisting of myself as the oldest, my brother as the middle child, and my sister as the youngest, our birthdays fall within a month of each other. At some point, my mother befriended this particular individual and their family, resulting in them frequently visiting. However, both my brother and I never really liked them due to their behavior, while my sister seemed to be held in high regard and became their favorite. Personally, I didn’t mind this as it meant dealing with them less.
On the occasion of my sister’s birthday, they came over to celebrate and brought along a trunk full of gifts for her. Of course, she was overjoyed with everything she received. After showcasing all the presents for my sister, they surprisingly announced that they also had gifts for my brother and I. They handed us a bag, and upon looking inside, we discovered Arby’s frisbees inside. Apparently, on their way to my sister’s party, they had eaten at Arby’s, and the frisbees came as a bonus with their meals.
Now whenever I see them I think about the fucken frisbee!!!
A while back I was into KDE Plasma but for whatever reason had this bug that would cause my system to run at 100 percent at all times. When I looked into it, many stated it was a bug that related to how kde searches for stuff on the system. Dont remember much else but that had me look elsewhere.
Been on gnome for awhile now and havent had any issues.
Would be cool if there was some way to migrate the posts on reddit to lemmy just all together. My initial thought is to make the posts tied to the op while also filtering based on karma and overall interaction to skip over duplicates and spam. Just making it tied to the op is the part I have no clue on how itll work.
Thanks for the reminder
The daily reminders I actually need.
Always been a lurker but sounds like I gotta do my part!
Arch Linux. Installed it 4 years ago and haven’t had any issues. I tried several other distro’s prior but there always seemed to be some annoying bug that would make me look elsewhere.
Simple Answer: No
The moment you need to think about what distribution you need to choose from is where it’ll stop any (dumb)user. Most people want a simple process with very little thinking.
If you are interested in learning linux and willing to take the time to understand the entire process that comes with it then yes.
