See, that’s the situation where we just don’t use them. I’m talking about wiping the original OS and putting something that’s really FOSS in its place.
All I’m hearing is that we might be able to hack these devices and put full Linux on them.
I may not have enjoyed using their distro, but I’m really happy to see this. They’re really popular in the desktop Linux market and it may help to get more users over here in the Fediverse.
That might be a difficult one to start, as a lot of Lemmy servers don’t allow NSFW content. Best of luck. :)
I’d say don’t be afraid to give it a shot, but be realistic with your view of its effect on you. If it helps, great! If not, don’t be afraid of abandoning it or handing it off. Gotta do what’s best for you in the end.

I homelab to study and practice, and I switched around 1.19. It’s been very smooth for me. Literally just had to change the docker image I was using.
