Wrong. You can subscribe to any community from any instance that is federated with yours, and it will show up in your feed. Once one person has subscribed to an outside community, it will start to appear under All in your home instance as well. If you pick a home instance that is federated with most of the others, then you essentially can see everything you would feasibly want to see.

I am subscribed to communities all over the Fediverse.

The original developers of Lemmy are communists who were seeking to create a social media space that would be free from corporate censorship and centralization. When they created ml, they decided to have it be geared towards communists and leftists as their specific flavor of the Lemmy community, because that is what interested them.

Have you considered a sex therapist? Sometimes they are better at hearing clues as to what the problem is since they have experience talking to a lot of couples.

It doesn’t have to be the kind you get naked in front of either, just an intimacy therapist that you can both safely describe your experiences to.

It may be more on her than on you. I can have trouble orgasming during sex, but it is largely because I don’t relax correctly in the moment. Too many thoughts about performing in my head combined with muscles that are too tensed.

But…why did she do it?

As somebody who goes to Juarez several times per week and has also traveled extensively throughout Mexico, cartel violence typically does not reach the average tourist, just like how people who go to New York are unlikely to actually see the mob. I have experienced more hassle from police than gangs, and even that is usually a cursory questioning and pocket check for drugs.

15 years ago, there were some cities that were in the middle of organized crime wars, and sometimes things spilled over into public where civilians could get hurt. This created a lot of heat for the cartels, and more recently they have mostly been operating under the radar or in remote neighborhoods again.

The bigger risk than violence is kidnapping, but even that doesn’t tend to get aimed at the tourist population due to the international backlash it would cause.

If you keep your wits about you, travel in Ubers that you order rather than unmarked cabs, and don’t accept drinks from strangers, then Mexico can be a wonderful adventure. The Mexican people have been mostly extremely good to me, and I refuse to cut them off as dangerous just because the news tries to tell me so.

I tried it. Basically all the time. Turned out to be a nightmare pretty quick. Don’t recommend unless you have exceptional communication skills and a lot of self confidence.
