That’s fair. App Store as the GUI equivalent of a package manager makes sense.
That’s fair. App Store as the GUI equivalent of a package manager makes sense.
You need a browser to install a packages manager on Windows or Mac.
(Unless you’ve memorized the urls you need and can use curl)
I once messed up something I was writing by hand and instinctually wanted to press ctrl+z
The people in the picture are so used to working with assembly language, that even though they know the average person doesn’t know much about assembly, they assume the average person knows a little, which is already way more than the average person actually knows.
You can host a git repo with little effort on any Linux machine you can ssh to. You don’t need to host a git lab instance unless you want some web gui.
Really long buildings (bridges) actually do
I had a relative visiting the US for the first time who was really excited to try turkey meat.
Lemmy feels a lot less mature than Reddit, for what that’s worth.
I think the company sees this as an opportunity to use the spotlight they now have to publicize their own IP. I suppose we can only wait and see what they do next.
?
Larion Studios is still doing fine. They’ve decided to pursue their own IP rather than continue to work with a 3rd party’s.
This is that “enlightened centrism” false equivalence.
I honestly can’t believe that in good faith you can compare Biden and Trump as equals.
One is a president whos platform is making minimal change.
The other is a president whos platform is to tear down democracy and human rights.
If you honestly can look at these two and say they are equal than I have to conclude you are at least indifferent to maintaining democracy and human rights.
I know the “counter argument” is about Biden and Israel/Gaza, but the thing is, that’s not really up for debate because I don’t believe there’s any chance Trump would be better about Gaza.
There are 2 options:
Makes sense because if you want to make freely available code but want to allow commercial projects to use it you want to use a liberal license because if your code is copy left licensed businesses won’t want to use it.
I’ve seen this in action: I’ve seen a business reject working with one research group because their code was copyleft licensed, so instead they turned to another group offering a liberally licensed competitor.
libvlc uses libavcodec
VLC relays on ffmpeg for a lot of video decoding, as do lots of other media programs. Go look up the legal notice on your TV and there’s a good chance the ffmpeg licensing information is in there.
I know. It’s obviously better for the consumer, but it makes it harder to base your business around it, as noted in that article.
So if I want to build a business, I have to look for libraries that are not copy left, and if I want businesses to use my software, I should not license my software as copy left.
The problem with a copyleft license is it’s hard to make a commercial software open source because a competitor can simply copy your work and sell it for cheaper.
I haven’t played BG1 or 2. As I understand it, the only connection between the games is a couple of cameo characters. The main plot and characters of BG3 are completely original and independent.
However, it would be helpful to have some experience playing DnD and/or some vague knowledge of DnD lore.
The assumption is OP isn’t a Trump supporter.
And they aren’t going to come close to winning so if you really don’t like facism it’s probably best to vote for the only non-fascist candidate who has a chance of winning.
It’s not “scare tactics” when it actually happens.
This has been a legal requirement by the government for a while, in order to combat counterfeit money. Many tools that work with images will complain about banknotes, even printers.
Also it’s not AI based and isn’t sending your image to a server. It’s checking for certain specific anti-counterfeit details of banknotes.
