update, I no longer really believe that people alive now will live to see AGI
Not a bot, I feel like one, hence the name.

You’re correct! And also, to be thorough, all corporations hate their customers.
(Are the customers making the corps’s billionaires into trillionaires yet? How about now? STILL NO?!! Then we hateses them!)
Corps would absolutely prefer to chain up all humans and legally force us to buy all & every product with every cent we make. Apple is no different 🤷♂️
…Do you think the US government has never done disinformation campaigns before?
Like the Hilton hotels Hilton. Her mother hung out at notorious 1970s club Studio 54 (cocaine central) and snagged herself a rich rich man there. So Paris the daughter here never had to work
That final panel, them smiling? That is a peace worth achieving
stop describing yourself, I’m at WORK! eggplant
I reacted accurately. Mozilla blog today: “ Improving online advertising through product and infrastructure” 🤑
“Seem” : had been, were previously. Now, Mozilla’s values seem no longer reliably aligned with privacy and user control
And I say this disbelief as a loony-sort who believes that insects maybe have language as complex as humans’, and that AGI will probably happen someday & potentially while people living now are alive.
But I just look at they hypesters who think they could ever control such a mind, who obviously plan to, & they just seem like goofy carnival types playing at summoning a god, & when the real thing shows up it is NOT happy these ants were so presumptuous. Most of us aren’t, any AGI who might eventually be evaluating us, Star-Trek-Q-style!
Elon Musk was Steve Jobs, Thomas Edison was Nikola Tesla, more examples I’m sure, and Sam Altman IS ELON MUSK.
To paraphrase Göring: smarty-man hype & their promises work the same in every decade
Wondering who that quote is from? Musk? Trump? Nixon?
Sorry idk specifically how to avoid the update, but the linked ArsTechnica article has some advice
Someone here advised & I’d agree: use a Windows VM, for things you haven’t found the Linux version of yet.
Windows’s plan to screenshot everything will include your private artistic work too, so you’ll be doing yourself a favor
What pushed me over the edge: the threat of Windows screenshotting everything I did.
Absolutely fucking not. Took it all to Ubuntu the day after I heard. Couple days later everything I need was set up & a few months later I haven’t looked back
“Boniface” yknow like some pope
By using his butthole. Saved you a click there 🫠🙏✨
Seconded, why not OnlyOffice? (maybe parent commenter got names confused 🤷♂️ no judgement)
as for OpenOffice vs Libre Office— IIRC Libre has more recent development on it, which IMHO feels like a good sign for open source software; it’s kept more up to date
The amount of disinformation bots or actors on any thread anywhere— despite what blamethrowing you might see in any direction — is incalculable. Trust no comment!
Good god, it takes 25 years to set up Linux? What happened to 8 hours for every minor problem?! I’m never gonna be free of WinBLOWS :(
Reminder to check in on your parents & warn them of the latest scams - your voice, cloned, claiming you’re in some emergency desperation need of lots and lots of money. They’ll fall for it. Discuss a plan with them BEFORE this happens!
Ok social do-gooder rant over 🤷♂️
Same. Audacity sniffing my local private stuff, NOPE. Tenacity instead thanks
