I’ve been using Delta Chat for the last few weeks, its very similar to WhatsApp, but decentralised… Works very well, available on android & ios, definitely worth a look, as it could be good for your use case…
If you’re really set on a flip phone, might be worth checking out other & newer alternatives, Nubia flip, Razr flip…something you can buy new, at half the price of a Samsung…

Having tried both, Mastodon feels more relaxed, more polished, easy to navigate, following hashtags, & pickup where you left off… Bluesky is in its infancy, & will probably get better… Have a couple of invite codes if anyone wants to check it out…
Yes they are primarily Mastondon apps, but they work very well with Pixelfed, very similar looking to the proprietary app…
You could try either Moshidon or Megalodon, both of which work well with Pixelfed & available on the Playstore…

Its gone 3:30am, I’ve just got home after a night out, I’ve had too much to drink, so driving is out of the question, besides there nothing open at this hour…I know, I’ll just sleep on it…for an hour anyway 😅
I don’t mind the winter if its cool & dry, not so much when its windy & raining…
