You might want to talk to a therapist because that is not a “cultural” difference.
But if you don’t care that other people around you think you’re an asshole even if they’re not coming up to you and saying it, then there’s nothing anyone can say.

Technology-wise, most modern “analog” wristwatches are quartz, and therefore digital, not actually analog.
Wat… that’s not how that works. Quartz watches can be digital or analog but what matters is whether it has a digital display or analog hands.
I’m a watch nerd with a collection of mechanical watches and I’m not going to downvote you because you’re right. I wear them because I like them even though I know they are anachronistic. I can’t remember the last time I interacted with somebody significantly younger than me who was wearing a watch, and as I said, I’m a watch nerd, someone’s watch is one of the first things I notice about them.
I will say that they are occasionally more convenient than other places I could check the time but I’ve built my life in such a way that I very rarely have to care about what time it is and I go weeks at a time without checking the time, just wearing them because I’m fascinated by tiny gears and springs doing their business and I like the feeling of it on my wrist.
I don’t mind standing in a small cube with strangers, that’s no issue at all. People that I’ve met once or twice but don’t know, that’s who I avoid.
You’re conflating subjective and objective. Just because things subjectively matter to you (they also subjectively matter to most nihilists as well) doesn’t mean they objectively matter. That’s where the distinction lies.
If someone just comes up to someone out of the blue and says they won’t have sex with you there’s nothing wrong with being angry or telling them to fuck off… I’d do the same if someone came up to me and said that and I’m not trans. The situation in the comic is not about someone’s preferences, it’s about people who constantly bring up their preference out of the blue for no reason other than to use it as a weapon. You’ve never experienced that problem, neat, good for you. A lot of trans people do.
OMG dude, no, stop! At least put down a tarp or something.
What is wrong with that? People can dress however they like and if you don’t like it you can just not look at them, not really rocket science.
Nobody deserves to be hated for how they look. But at the same time, we live in a extreamly superficial world. Quite an awful world if you ask me.
Guy… you’re the one being superficial… you don’t get to blame your behaviour on “the world” that’s extremely pathetic. Own up to the fact that it is people like you AND you yourself that make the world superficial. Or are you too afraid to take responsibility for your own behaviour?
I think there’s a reason these posts always end up on programmer focused places on the internet. Yes, I’m sure their job is annoying, and it would be easier to not have to solve time conversion problems, but the time conversion problems wouldn’t even go away if you forced everyone to use UTC. You’d just start having to do conversions to solar time, or looking up waking hours (which is just timezones)
Which is short sighted considering it is much easier to make a standardized library for converting time zones than it is to make a standard library reflecting what different time numbers mean in different places around the world. If they somehow convinced people to make the change, they would find out pretty quickly they were better off with the devil they knew.
Education is investment in our species future… teachers aren’t billionaires, they’re not overpaid.
I don’t think you know what “meme” means… it doesn’t mean “thing that gets posted once and never again” actually it means the exact opposite
Dante’s Inferno went into detail that was not biblical, but there’s enough in the bible that writing it off completely is cherry picking.
“They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
"And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
"But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
“And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.”
Because there is no downside
Sure, unless you care about LGBT+ people not being discriminated against and murdered. And unless you care about teaching strong critical thinking to avoid conspiracies including anti-vax. And unless you care about the future of the planet in the face of climate change which is largely ignored by religious people who are more focused on the next life than this one. And unless, and unless, and unless…
There are tons of downsides.
As the only way in which the human condition can be contextualised is in a world that is created, and religions are the keepers of that knowledge.
Yeah no, we can contextualize with rational thought, it’s just that more work needs to be done that has historically been stifled by religion considering they have historically killed people who didn’t go along with them. Religions don’t have some monopoly on knowledge in this field, what they have is some shit they just made up, some of which works, and a lot of which doesn’t. But they have no methodology by which to test which parts work and which don’t so they just push all of them regardless.
That’s what they said… they said they had bad feet from years of wearing those shitty shoes.
The fact that you don’t understand that you’re NOT saying the same thing… is pretty sad. Not sure if it’s because you have poor reading comprehension or that you’re just so clearly emotionally invested in this that you can’t see it clearly, but either way, it’s pretty sad.
Where did they say the government handed out credit scores? The meme was pointing out a double standard, not saying the government hands out credit scores.
This entire comment is just you admitting you have below average reading comprehension.
Down with specificity! We want the confusion that arises from ambiguity! Things were confusing in my day and I will not put up with people being able to understand each other! Harrumph to you good sir! A harrumph and another harrumph for good measure!
I used to play a high level monk and had, I don’t even remember now, but something like 20-30 attacks per turn. Rolling for all that was bad enough. If you were playing with actual dice rolling 120d4 would give everyone else a chance to go to the store every time you took a turn.
At least they get invited to them. You have to be real sad and lonely to act like you do.
oh yeah, everything is a pirate ship!
