I’ll give the same advice I give on everything:
“In 6 months, will taking this action still have a major effect on your life?”
So, in 6 months, will a “no” change your life in a meaningful way from what it is today? If the answer is no, let that sink in.
Once you can logically define what’s “impactful”, it makes it a whole lot easier to do those things that seem scary in the moment. And once you do those things aleven a few times, they get easier and easier.
I had thought for virus scanning, but it doesnt seem to do that yet.
Integrate with ClamAV or VirusTotal and this would be a masterpiece.
Me too. Ondsel wouldn’t have been possible without the massive amount of work that previously happened on FreeCAD.
If you want to be supporting FOSS, this is how you do it.
It’s also likely, consider the first paragraph of their goodbye, that it has more to do with competing in a commercial CAD space (where engineers are trained on specific software different from FreeCAD in school) than anything else.
TIL: People are nostalgic about some odd stuff.
I mean, I recognize some memories as good when they occured, but I don’t wish to return to them. And others, I mean, sheesh.
When you find out the person stealing food is skipping meals to feed their family.
Thats cool. Picture FitoTrack, but with an AllTrails or Garmin-like web interface instead. Wanderer is more modern, Fittrackee (was/is?) more feature rich.
I’m not sure I agree with the other OP, I haven’t used Kdenlive, but I thought it lacked OpenGL and Decklink support compared to Shotcut. Personally been very happy with Shotcut after using Premier and After Effects previously.
I know Fittrackee and Wanderer were mentioned, why did you skip those? More curious than anything.
Ohhhh
I’d bet, even if he doesn’t say it, one of your father’s biggest regrets is that you didn’t have a stable location and set of friends. And if it’s not, I’d suggest not bringing it up. Realizing that after all this years could be pretty traumatic.
Wait, I hope you don’t think it’s your fault that you opened up?
That’s really rough. I hope you are doing OK and taking care of yourself.
Agree with other responder. End of October was… Stressful. Way more for some than others. This might be one of those situations where trying an “Are you OK?” would be all that’s needed to start mending.
I never understood the idea of using the command numbers. Ctrl-R is just so much easier.
We had shootings and my locker-mate died in a motorcycle accident. This was in the 90s, so… the usual by today’s standards?
This is not a good side hustle. This is pain. Pure, unadulterated, pain.
ZFS and dotfiles are your friend. Sorry for your loss.
