Not me but: “I was showing the new system to anons father. Have more luck teaching a rock how to float.”
Technology connections did a video on it. Basically the lights which lasted forever either; sucked at giving light and/or sucked at sucking power.
Light manufacturers got together and made a standard which was a sweet spot of power efficiency, longevity and light output. Unfortunately, being decent at all three meant no longer sucking at two to boost longevity.
I’m currently going through a pretty bad divorce where my wife cheated on me, drained my accounts, lawyered up and send a letter demanding $280,000 and isn’t signing documents or responding to her legal council.
I’d love to get it all finalised and end that chapter of my life but realistically I can’t force her to do anything. I can’t make her sign documents, I can’t make her talk to her lawyer. So ultimately it is what it is.
Frankly, that saying has (since our separation) become an anthem to me. I can understand why you’d think it’s defeatism etc if it’s someone speaking of something they can legitimately do something about but truely sometimes it really is what it is.
Can’t forget rule 4!
DID I HEAR ROCK & STONE?!
The factory must grow!
Thanks for sharing that! That’s a really good explanation for what’s causing it. I’d heard a few different parts to why it’s happening but that post makes it really understandable.
Then 99% of those were created on Lemmy.world,
The instance I’m a part of has had issues federating with Lemmy.world for a lot of months now and it sucks because that’s where a large part of the community congregated and so it’s where a lot of content exists.
Thanks! I was too lazy to search but curious enough to go to the comments.
And DeArrow!
A must for actually knowing the content of LMG videos past the click-bait headlines/thumbnails.
Did her happiness make her HD?
Good points! Thanks for providing info.
Care to elaborate?
I don’t know about first but when I was young I played a pair of animated point and click educational games called Dino Dudes and Space Dudes. Years later I tried to find copies of them and there super rare, turns out (from memory) they were developed in Australia and not widely distributed in a time where not everything made its way onto the internet.
I did manage to find a freeware copy of both games online but the effort to get them running turned me off of the endeavour.
Americans can’t see this comment chain.
Edit: or should I say “Ameri-can’t see this comment chain”
Which still absolutely checks out for the current timeline.
As a man this sums up my experience.
Speaking to a woman who found their spouse via dating apps she said not to sweat it, pretend you’re in a job interview and trying to get to know the other person. Since then I’ve realised she was right, but as a man I’m the one being interviewed. Just like a job interview; it’s stressful, frustrating and often you’ll never know where you’ve gone wrong when they turn you down.
Honestly, Grim Kleapers ads are almost a highlight to me. Such a memelord, wacky and entertaining.
When asked to make a birthday wish on stage during a live performance he joked “Don’t miss trump next time”. Because of the comedic nature of the show and the political right’s famously thick skin (compared to the snowflakes on the left) the joke was taken in good stride and nothing else of note happened.
Of course that’s bullshit. Right leaning news-entertainment media lost their collective minds that someone would dare say something so heartless about a poor disenfranchised millionaire manchild. And (I’m severely paraphrasing here) that instead of making terrible remarks about the lord and saviour/second coming of Jesus you should save the hateful rhetoric for minorities and the chosen hated religious groups.
My understanding is that Kyle essentially lost his career over the remark (cancel culture’s out of control!!) and Jack Black distanced himself from Kyle and they cancelled the rest of their tour.
