Same here. Static IP though. I did set up another experiment with a haproxy vps just to see if I could do it if I lost my static IP, worked perfectly done that way too.
Fail2ban, pfblocker, and soamassassin work great.
I don’t know about slim but I love OpenSUSE. It is super stable, I’ve run it for about a billion years. You can use the installer to just choose the server light install.
II use Debian for some build machines.

OpenSUSe. Tumbleweed as a rolling bistro is amazingly stable, yast is nice, and it all just works great. Leap for the servers, and things are solid.
Connect is nice too. And I have Liftoff installed, seems good so far as well. I honestly don’t get the fixation on Sync.
