This is one of my biggest gripes stopping me from switching to Linux. I just can’t give-up windows’ partitions. I find Unix/Linux file system to be incompatible with how I like storing my files.

Statcounter’s graph of iOS market share points to more than half 56% on Norway, so I bet if there is a need for replacing windows in Norway they will swing to apple instead of Linux.
Of all countries Norway might be among the last to switch to Linux.
Rich countries tend to go the apple way.
Linux Mint is king. The rest are imposters 🤪
I know I shouldn’t dunk on free software. But I have never been frustrated by a software before like I was with blender. Everything seems half developed. And I always need hacks I never knew I needed to complete the smallest of projects. Modeling tools are half finished.
Like try to snap the knife tool to the midpoint of an edge? no luck. Try to constrain the knife direction to one of the vertex directions ? No luck. Try to make the curve profile width consistent in 3d? no luck . do proper precision modeling ? Impossible . snapping in unreliable half of the time. and on and on and on .
I am very grateful for the free software and the devs hard work. I bet trying to make blender do many things at once keeps it in a state with many unfinished tools .
Browsers are leading slower and slower
That’s because of heavy use of JavaScript and frameworks like React. Websites like Facebook are a nightmare to deal with.
++ social media has killed personal blogs. Which is one of the biggest losses to me.
It feels the same with this account. I don’t know if it is because of the update or because of this instance
Ubuntu. The whole interface paradigm puts me off.
I was hyped for it coming before the end of this year. Anyways its great the project isn’t dead
We should be more active to keep this ship afloat. Don’t be stingy with the comments.
Edit: spelling
They have been postponing it for a long time now. But uBlock origin has a light version they expect to work with V3. I wonder why they bother in the first place when they can just focus on Firefox
For a moment I thought this post was about the LTT host. And was like they could replace him with any of his doppelgangers in the group and no one will notice.
The HP help and troubleshooting software did better than the Microsoft one.
The problem with the command line line. Is that people don’t understand what they are typing . what command means what. And don’t really care to memorize them. I’ve seen tech illiterate people navigate their way through leading how a mobile OS works because of how user centric they are designed. If you give them a Linux distro with a bunch of command lines to type. They would rather call someone more knowledgeable to do it or give up on it entirely. Unfortunately this is something Linux Devs don’t understand
For Linux desktop to grow past the single digit market share it is at today. It needs to be led by tech visionaries not by code evangelists . The average user doesn’t care about if it’s running Wayland or x11 or whatever shit you name it they only care about their OS having all the features they need and support all the latest hardware they buy.
Add to that any average Joe would freeze at the prospect of having to enter a command line to maintain their computer or use their firewall. In short for Linux to grow it needs to copy windows or macOS otherwise it will keep being used by nerds and sys admins
But old reddit has changed a lot. Bringing it close to the newer interface.
Is that car brand sold in the U$?
Eternity, hands down the best,
open source = no ads or tracking
very cutomisable, smooth navigation, no major bugs. + supports older phones
Honestly, I haven’t yet seen the article, the light theme one is probably newer because of tabs.
Anyways both look like an android app, I know most will hate reading this but Windows Explorer rules.
I like partitions to be at the root of my file system. And dedicate each one to a specific use. And even dedicate a separate hard drive for my personal files. When in need of transfer or repairs just move this drive to another PC and carry on the work while the former PC gets repaired or nuked.
