Ah, ok
Not being mobile oriented is a very valid point.
Thought, that it maybe still is enough to work with, but yeah, I can imagine that it’s not really nice handle on mobile - and probably no notification support etc

The Signal Linux client isn’t working on a phone?
Signal is also one of my essential apps, but I wasn’t expecting a problem there, as I’ve Signal running on my desktop and laptop.
Phone just not beefy enough or what is the issue with it?
Is there something like an easy migration script, which would take packages and settings from my current install?
Ok, settings are mostly in my home anyway
Packages I can generate a list, and the manuals throw out the Manjaro stuff
Hmm…I’m having a laptop and a workstation running Manjaro and I really would like to make the switch, but can’t tolerate much downtime, because both are machines for my work
So I’m looking for something to quickly setup everything as I had, without the need to remember everything and do it manually…
Are you sure about the IQ?
You’re writing very well structured and without errors - at least none that really stick out of or I’ve seen
Sure you’re not just putting yourself down too much?
And anyway, everyone has the tools we’ve got.
Make the best of it. That’s all one can do anyway.
Do what interests you. Do what brings you joy - and do something that brings some income that you can live off.
Don’t overthink the IQ part. Many high intelligence people are having major issues in their life. IQ isn’t everything and really working for what you want, can cancel out many handicaps
And I still don’t believe, that you have such a low IQ.
IQ tests often overvalue performance in time.
If you’re insecure already, you’ll have second thoughts about your answers, lose time and get a lower score.
Edit: and to add to that, a good friend of mine always had A’s in every class in highschool, but scored really bad in IQ tests, because he wanted to do them perfect. While I just went through them as fast as possible. He was like 86 points. But he went on to study theoretical physics.
All good, just wanted to clarify what I meant
Unique enough with the other hardware IDs
And still, absolutely no reason to go further then the first octets, to have the vendor and device
Or am I missing something?
And I’m currently a happy user of Manjaro since years. But this stuff really isn’t what I want to have on my system …
Yeah, besides some Nvidia driver problems, Manjaro was stable for me as well
Have chosen it, because it was fast to setup and the base configuration wasn’t too of far off my liking
But, by now I’m considering to switch
Yeah, so take the vendor and device id and be done?
Why should they need my unique ID/MAC?
Thanks, that was interesting!
But I wonder, if you accidentally put it in the wrong community. Or other way round: how is this related to open source?
(Or does my client show me some wrong information?)
I’m not sure, if I can follow
Aren’t the dependencies for the app (hopefully - as it’s the same code) completely the same, no matter how I install it?
With GitHub (apk releases) the only difference would be, that you’ll need to keep an eye on updates yourself
Or do I miss something here?
Hm… Strange
I was very much of the opinion that I had the option, when I bought the laptop, but (at least on mobile) I can’t see it now.
Because I remember, that I was so happy to be able to choose CoreBoot
But checking my BIOS, it’s from insyde
And I’ve no idea what exactly those guys are and what they build up on - or if it’s a completely other UEFI BIOS
That’s a bit of a bummer now, actually
Edit: or maybe I’m mixing it up with the StarLabs StarFighter order, I had to cancel.
That would make at least sense, and my memory is just scrambled, but not completely creating fictional stuff ;-)
I’m having a Framework 16 and chose during ordering to set it up with coreboot
Not sure about libreBoot, and haven’t really looked much into coreboot as well, to be honest, but everything seems to work and I’m happy
Edit: nah, I think, I’ve talked shit and remembered it wrong.
Seems framework currently doesn’t give the option to use coreboot.
Sorry for the misinformation…
I waited ages for their StarFighter laptop and needed to finally cancel, as my old laptop was dying.
But I’m pretty happy now with a Framework 16.
I guess Framework also provides quite long support, as re-using stuff is their thing, but I don’t really have looked into it
I’m always making big plans on my business trips about all the stuff I’ll do, when I’m back home
Back home I usually just crash for 2-5 days and can’t do much anyway - and then work starts again to stress enough, because of all the postponing, to get me up again
Not really a fun cycle…
Meh attitudes to ww2, puts it lightly.
Hitler loved him and afaik Ford was also invited over and got some medal or something
The USA was a fan of Hitler for quite some time. So if course there were people sympathetic with Nazi Germany
I still think Twitter was just a fuck up on his side
Else it would be A+ psyop role playing and looking at all those bright minds, I don’t see a possibility for them acting accordingly to a sinister plan.
I just want to make clear, that I don’t think it’s some kind of dark deep state issue, but much more a systematic issue, caused by Imperial capitalism - not saying you implied it, I just wanted to clarify
At that point, why still bother with Ubuntu?
Ah yeah, did that during business trips.
There are also some laptop remote control apps in the store
Not sure what is hip and secure currently, years ago I used unified remote, which worked quite well.
Or did you find a better solution and use a real remote with USB receiver?
Also perfect for my back pain. Everything relaxes after an hour in a hot bath.
I even put in dimmable multi colour light in my bathroom and some nice background music.
Sadly the LED strip broke quite soon…
Ah, yeah right
Completely forgot about that
