What prompted your decision to leave?
I had been looking for an alternative to Reddit for a while, but heard about Lemmy during the API Exodus of ‘23.
were you able to get others to join you on Lemmy?
I did not try. I know no one on Reddit personally except one of my customers. I have told him in person about Lemmy, but I do not think he would join. I co-modded a sub and the other mod supposedly went to beehaw. But again not someone I knew personally.
When i was a kid we let nature do it, so the laundry went directly from the washer to the line. I would do the same thing with a pair of socks to test it. Once they are frozen, defrost and dry as normal.
Freeze them after washing them. When I was a kid we did not have a dryer, and dried clothes on a clothesline. One thing I loved about the winter was how soft my clothes felt after they froze on the line before drying.

Looks like some fried rice I got once in Santa Carla back in the 80s. Thinking about it, eating take out with some dudes in a cave under a pier probably was not the smartest of things to do.
I like it a lot. The initial move was predicated by working in the entertainment industry and all the shows coming through our theater needed qlab.
But after that I started using it for personal use. I was unable to move my photoshop cs6 license over because I have been unable to get a copy of it in 64bit. But I have since switched to affinity. It has a steep learning curve, but I mostly use it for graphics for my shop so it does what I need it to do.
I have been using libre office since forever, that moved over with me.
Before getting my MacBook Pro I was doing most of my gaming on my ps5, so I am not missing a lot there. But most of the games I do play are available on the Mac (No Man’s Sky, FF14, Palia, mudlet, Apico, Mudborne).
When I connect a monitor it works, when I connect a TV through my 4x4 matrix it works.

Wdym with linux can be broken?
Linux mint kept harassing me to install the official drivers for my wireless card, so I did. It broke my ability to use WiFi.
I told Linux while in presentation mode I did not want the screen to sleep, it took that as sleep after 5 minutes.
Every time the laptop sleeps/restarts my screen resolution is borked, half the time the correct resolutions are not available and I have to disconnect all my monitors, restart, then connect the monitors.
Most solutions I hear are use a different distro, learn command line, you should not be using Linux if you cannot fix this stuff.

Originally i really disliked 28 Days, it was not until i begrudgingly saw 28 Weeks and really liked it that I went back and rawatched Days and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Braindead/Dead Alive is always in my top horror movies. Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn is a really good movie too. Both have an amazing number of fantastic one liners.
28 Days and 28 Weeks Later are great zombie movies that are less camp and humor.
I think Iraq has a similar climate to the desert where I live. Having grown up in the desert of the US, I have always wanted to visit other deserts to see how other cultures deal with the heat/dryness firsthand.
Beyond that and the obvious war news I do not know too much about Iraq.
My wife and I used to always do those round up things and make donations at the register. One day we decided to pick a couple charities in which we believed and make a couple donations a year to them on our own. I also started to volunteer at a food bank.
