Yeah, these kinds of little gendered connectors seem pointless until you absolutely need them for something specific then they’re priceless.
You could have some potted plants that have simple flowers that polonaters like unlike the really ornate ones. A couple times a year I try to start new patches of native milk weed on random segments of land along the roadside.
It’s not the tax write off. It’s that the companies like to white wash their image though these types of charities at the counter. They could just donate a portion of their profits instead. I don’t need my charitable donations to be impulse purchases when I’m trying to grab some milk.

I have several family members that will refuse to eat anything that they know has garlic in it. Those were never the most adventurous people though.
To your point, If I really can’t afford a game I’ll pirate it and when I can get those games for $5 - 10 I’ll pick them up on steam or gog for as much convenience as anything. I’m not trying to get a free ride but my appetite for more art is greater than I could possibly afford.
I agree, $100 for a simple b&w laser printer $200ish for color from them are as much as pretty much anyone needs and they’re stupid fast. Their software and toner management isn’t customer hostile yet at least.
