Where did you find that azure runs on linux? I have been qurious for a while, but google refuse to tell me anything but the old “a variant of hyper-v” or “linux is 60% of the azure worklad” (not what i asked about!)

This for sure. Making games easily accessible on linux have lead to a lot of people not having to deal with windows anymore.
It is the same effect as a kidnapping victim beeing grateful when someone comes to release them fom the torture rack. It is not strange that valve gets a lot of goodwill from their actions.
Would i sish more people did as steam does? Ofcourse! But none do, so we are grateful for steam. I think they saved pc gaming. And not only for linux.

When i was a kid, we did not have a tv, for many years. But my uncle did. And he had 2 movies on vhs? Smokey and the bandit. And the sting.
If there was bad weather we siblings and cousins often went there to watch one of those 2. Have probably seen the sting 20-30 times. But i would not be suprised if we saw the bandit a hundred times ;D

And I always install and enable unattended upgrades. And it have never been a problem. Not even once.

That only applies for steam keys afaik. You can not sell your steam keys cheaper anywhere else, since steam is on the hook for the cost and services. That is fairly logical.
A dev can charge whatever if they deal with all that themself on their own webpage forinstance.

Yes it does take extra work. Problem is often that that work was done in the past when isp implemented their ipv4 metodology. And instead of using the ipv6 rollout as a chance to improve their design and operations. They just add ipv6 into their ipv4 design and methodology. They encumber their ipv6 rollout with their decades of technical debt and cruft they have normalized in their ipv4 world. And it will makes things harder for themselfs when trying to turn off ipv4 in the core.

Goverments (depending on juristiction) have laws requiering isp’s to keep track of cgnat port combos. So not only is there no privacy from ipv4 cgnat. Now the isp must also spend a lot of money on the nat state tracking database.
If you need that kind of privacy, use a vpn and the tor onion network.
