For the small tabs, you may try to enable custom stylesheet (userChrome), there are plenty of themes on the web, but if you’re looking for something more specific you may edit it yourself, it’s very easy. Oh and the default start page is pretty ugly I agree, there are plenty of alternative start pages on the add-on store For the data collection, firefox forks like librewolf should have that disabled by default (I don’t have any experience tho)

A possibile solution might be to link the post uploading the image to the image itself, and if the post gets deleted the image should be as well deleted, or “hidden” somewhere if the post should be un-deletable. This way removing the post wouldn’t allow people to still view that image, hence it would be unuseful this “trick”

because most bots are spam doesn’t mean that all bots are spam. unrequested invasive bots are definitely spam, but bots that can be enabled or disabled freely do nothing wrong IMO

fun fact, I’ve never liked them much neither XD but I wanted to try something easy to learn bot development on lemmy and a few users were waiting for this and so here I am!

It can be toggled by anyone but the toggle would affect the whole community atm, I’m not able to make its messages visible only so some users yet, although it would be very very nice! perhaps blocking the bot account can be a way to hide all its posts? I’ll think about this!
