Matrix too but not using that in a social media way, only as a direct messenger.

Not without cracking it open to swap the battery.
Thats a good point tbh. Nice brain hack
Yeah for anything except some games, wine/lutris or a virtual machine will work wonders. Not having to reboot is much nicer. You can also consider booting windows off a fast usb stick or usb ssd.
hmm okay i dont really know anything about pop_os, but yeah it seems that it doesnt like it if you install stuff outside of its pre selected set of packages. my next GPU will definitely be an AMD one, nvidia is just a mess.
well good luck then i guess 🫤
Have the same gpu and had same issue give me a second to find the solution again.
Now back at PC:
Right so i searched for a while back when i got those issues and the only solution that really worked for me was installing 550 instead. Idk how PopOS / ubuntu does things. So doing this could be easy or super fucking annoying.
depending on the repo you are using for the nvidia driver, you might be able to specify the driver version during install like so:
sudo apt install nvidia-driver-550
I am on debian12 and installing from repo didnt work for me as there were lots of dependencies that had version conflicts. I ended up installing it with the .run file which is really tedious.
Im gonna be honest tho the chance that this will fix your issue is not that high. Nvidia problems are so fucking diverse and could be due to any number of specific system component and package combinations.
Probably significantly less actually. Because all the encryption and communication protocols are open source and regularily audited, they have become more and more secure. All sides of this conflict have an interest in these systems being secure because everyone indcluding the feds themselves are using them. From looking at actual cases they have to either wait for a zero day to infiltrate a phone remotely or physically compromise it (airport, etc).
Back when every country was developing its own IT systems, it was different, but now everything is globalized. If Russia/Iran/China is suffering from a 0day, chances are the US is suffering from it aswell.
Basically all outdoor images can be automatically geotagged by neural nets developed for this purpose. So you gotta keep it indoor only if you have physical safety concerns.
The more human infrastructure there is, the easier it is to doxx you, but even in the middle of nowhere the neural nets are starting to be very optimized for it. Even the publicly available tools arent too bad and the ones developed for and by the military/feds are probably even better.
Yeah there was something there but its still in the right league at least. It might change the ranking slightly but it wont change that its at the low end.
comparable to RTX 30series
That sadly doesnt mean anything. That would range from 3050 to 3090 so its meaningless.
According to userbenchmarks, the more powerful desktop version of the RX 5500 is still weaker than a Nvidia 3050. https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-3050-vs-AMD-RX-5500/4127vs4059
So its pretty weak, comparable to a Nvidia 1060 roughly. Which is still fine for 2D games and most 3D games at low settings.
The CPU is a pretty good one, the GPU is on the weaker side. You can run plenty of games on it, but AAA games wont run very well. This thing isnt very old and AMD GPUs are well supported by linux drivers so there shouldnt be an issue there.
Just so odd how they went about the whole thing. Such an uncalculated way to do things.
Why not wait until you have all your explanations in order backed by lawyers before doing the release? Why did they shit on the carpet first and then explained their reasons afterwards after lots of horrible attempts at justifications that completely missed the point.
This is what i never understand about attempts at P2P hosting of copyright content. It only works BECAUSE its obscure and irrelevant. As soon as it gets popular, all of these people and their VPN providers would get crushed by lawsuits.
Dont get me wrong i love P2P tech, but it will never solve these issues unless the laws are fixed.
What a self own with the title then. Should have changed it to “The beneficiaries of world hunger”
Well i didnt read the article but it depends on the framing. Is he defending the capitalist status quo? If yes then he can go die of hunger imo. If the article points out that rich people benefit from hunger and that this is in fact bad, then thats cool.
There was a follow up to this pic with him apologizing, saying that he learned that this is not what irvin would have wanted.
Oof that sounds rough. Maybe the EU custumer service is run different. I never had any major issues with all the lenovos i used or set up for other people. Thinkpads and legions alike. But when i did have a family member break something, it was repaired (not replaced) in a matter of a few weeks without any warranty hassle.
But generally the quality of all things lenovo has definitely gone done in recent years for sure. I would recommend framework but those are not cheap and not really for gaming.
The lenovo legion series gaming laptops have been good in my experience. They also have fully AMD ones nowadays too i think. (If you are on linux that is a plus)
Yeah but it demonstrates googles unwillingness to cooperate and give fair warnings.
Have you tried 535 yet? I would do that before trying to experiment with other installation pathways.
