Stopped using Facebook because it’s a toxic dumping ground of content that seems targeted at me, with the intent of making me more miserable than usual. Everyone I was friends with stopped posting interesting or funny things, and now it’s just baby pics or politics. No thanks.

I’ve cut out most “for profit” social media. Main reason being is that the UX on a lot of clients for the Fediverse are miles ahead and aren’t bloated with crap.

I try not to be chronically online. I’ve never used Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, or BeReal. I briefly used TikTok but deleted it when I felt my brain melting.

Currently, I have a fake Facebook account I use to access marketplace (it’s the best way to get expensive baby stuff for cheap). On mobile I use Lemmy, on my desktop I pop into reddit. I also love my gossip discord for mindless entertainment.

Yeah it sucks Facebook marketplace has become the dominant way to sell things online. I used to use Craigslist all the time but the only thing there anymore are scams. I deleted my Facebook in 2017 but ended up coming back with a fake account for marketplace but I feel gross about it.

Yeah it feels super icky. Especially since my fake Facebook keeps recommending friends I know in real life. And not just local people, but people all the way across the state. How does it know that???

Stopped Facebook years ago, stopped Reddit because of the API changes, and now trying to stop Twitter except for maybe posting art.

I’m mostly on Tumblr now, but I’m also trying some newer social sites such as here, Cohost, Inkblot (more art focused), and Masto.

I have an instagram account with 0 posts because it’s the only way to find out what’s going on in town.

I got lemmy to replace Reddit but I find myself going back to check on the local subreddit since they have no interest yet in moving here. When Narwall finally stops working I imagine I’ll stop using Reddit altogether.

I use Snapchat and LinkedIn (and I’m still not sure exactly why).

Stopped using Facebook, twitter and Reddit completely.

My life got so much better when I ditched Facebook, I was stuck in a daily routine of just scrolling through ads and stupid posts on ridiculous groups, and though I felt it made me in a bad mood constantly, I just continued.

It was such a relief to leave it for good.

Leaving Reddit was a lot harder, since I actually enjoyed many of the subs, but Lemmy is growing fast and it’s already feeling quite good scrolling through my front page.

I have a twitter and an instagram - with about 5 posts on each. Ditched Facebook about 4 years ago when I realised it’s just all toxic boomers on there now. Ditched reddit when they killed 3rd party apps. So Lemmy, and a LinkedIn I only really check for work.

Ironically, I work for a small company and I handle all the social media. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

I still used instagram because I’m basically forced to. It’s the only platform that (almost) all my IRL friends are on. It’s a terrible platform for friends though. All people ever do now is send me stupid fucking reels. Honestly my hot take is that facebook was never as bas as Instagram currently is, but people will never leave.

I use Instagram a lot to keep up with friends. I use Facebook to keep up with things in the local area (I could do without this but I like knowing what’s going on and old people on Facebook are too funny.)

I stopped using Twitter about 5 years ago. What an absolute waste of time that website it.

I use Instagram pretty regularly, have dropped facebook altogether and will delete my reddit account on Tuesday.

Some people call whatsapp a social media app, which I don’t agree to. But yeah I’m using that a lot.

At this point other than Lemmy I mainly just use instagram.

I do have Facebook to keep up with a few family members still, but a lot of them are on IG as well. But I keep my IG a lot smaller cause I post more casual everyday stuff on there, weed stuff and whatnot lol.

I still have twitter cause I’ve been on there on a bunch of accounts for like 15 years at this point and it’s hard to let go, but I really don’t tweet much anymore, just go on and retweet some stuff and then leave. Elon has completely ruined it, and I feel like no one sees my stuff anymore, or maybe they don’t go on there anymore either.
