Why stop at a year? How about they have to do it indefinitely until they have a major health crisis that bankrupts them!)
There already are shows like this out there!
Sure, but they must have skin in the game. Say, if they cheat or leave the show early, they lose a non-trivial amount of their fortunes.
there was a show called Undercover Boss where the CEO of the company had to dress up like a common Joe and live the life of one of his employees for a week. the employee who treated him better was then rewarded by the CEO with money, promotions etc.
The problem I had with that show is that the people the boss interacted with were surely predetermined.
I would be expected a show like this to have similarly orchestrated situations.
