I’m not exactly sure what you mean. I try to treat other people well as much as I can. Doesn’t mean I’m going to get back into contact with abusive and negletful parents that did serious long term damage and pain to me with lifetime consequences that I now have no say over.

what exactly does defederation mean? that the instance has psuedo cut itself off from the other instances such that their own users dont see anything from the other instances? we can still see them but they cant see us?

I have periodontal disease so I feel this. I actually extra feel this, because I have perio because my parents never took care of me as a kid, and then in my adulthood while I spend tons of money for maintenance and have lots of pain they try to gaslight me into thinking they didn’t do anything wrong and try to guilt trip me into reestablishing contact with them. Fuck that lol.
