I’m maybe misunderstanding you here, but as far as I know there were about 100 times as many people killed in WW2 as in the US Civil war. 60 odd million vs 600,000 or so.

Am in UK, and yeah, I’ve definitely heard it pronounced that way, sometimes combined with a second name, eg St John-Smith = Sinjin-Smith

I don’t know if this is helpful or not, but you can do this on Sync for Lemmy. As a test, I just added you as a favourite and now you appear in my Favs list alongside my chosen top communities.

However I don’t know if there’s any way to create a feed consisting of all favourited people’s posts, which would be more useful IMO than having to check each individual favourited person. Will have a go and see if I can find a way.

There was talking at one point of a live action movie of Hamilton (not the filmed stage version, a proper adaptation), which I think could be excellent if done well.

I’ve only ever seen the end of Maverick, and my sole memory from it is that in a 4 or 5 person deal, every single player gets an exceptional hand, enough to more or less guarantee victory in 99% of hands dealt. Naturally, everyone goes all in and most of them regret it!

Not sure if it’s the most messed up, but it’s stayed with me for more than 30 years. I dreamt that my younger brother had fallen off a bridge into a river, and I was in the water, trying to save him. I was somehow able to stand with the water only just past my ankles, and was frantically sweeping it aside left and right with my hands, but I just couldn’t find him, despite the shallow depth. Absolutely horrible feeling, and I can still see it clearly nowadays.

Those guys are all sadly afflicted by a case of the Notgays.

I’m right there with you on Eps 7 and 9 of Star Wars. TFA was loads of fun, and goofy though some of it was, I still loved TRoS.

Tbh, if I had a boomerang as a weapon, I’d get precisely one throw out of it (whether I hit anything or not).

I would probably say that FOTR is my least favourite of the LOTR trilogy, TTT and ROTK are both more enjoyable IMO.

That said, I saw the movies before I read the books, so that might be a factor, I’m not sure.

Nice, I don’t think I’ve seen that. Love the idea of Frank riffing, don’t think he ever got a chance in MST3K.
